COMO NOCHE DE JULIO

One of the main reasons for presenting this work to you is that, with this work I started and I want to finish the year 2023. During the days of January 2023 I decided to return to painting, since those days were quite cold, with little light and a lot of heavy. I felt like I needed a little color and to remember the warmer moments of last summer...

Context

The life on the lake "Ammersee" in Bayern Germany is really calm and subtle. The seasons of the year deeply mark the shapes and colors of nature. The landscapes are deep and distant. Snow absorbs almost everything: sounds. It reveals what falls on it and creates an opaque and transparent "light" that illuminates the entire night. It shines when the earth absorbs it. I interpreted all those shapes, movements and sounds in this work in an inverse way.

Interpretation

The body of the work is built in layers. each one with a rhythm and color. Some colors juxtapose, intersect and merge.

In the background some shapes disappear and reappear modified. Some colors float and others are crossed by geometric shapes. It is a small dance between the mobile and the static. What is rooted in the earth and what floats by the wind.

Collective exhibition

In July 2023, the complete series was presented, under the title: like a July night. During a weekend we were able to enjoy, toast and observe the paintings fresh from my basement/studio. Together with a great artist and friend: Ruth Àviles we made a mix between painting and ceramics. I carried out the curation and assembly with wood thinking about a fusion between the garden and the color of the paintings. People could "travel" through some areas of the assembly and have different perspectives of view.
